Global: Royal Air Force WaterSki and Wakeboard

With the weather warming and the 2014 season rapidly approaching the RAF has a challenge to match last year. Already announced is that Ross and Rich Philips have been selected for the GB Wakeboard squad, more later, and so the standard has already been set exceptionally high for what is laid down to be an awesome season.

Mixing with some of the best known British names in the sport is not new for Royal Air Force personnel however, this year Corporal Ross Phillips and brother Corporal Richard Phillips will be competing on the GB Masters Men’s team, other members of this team include Matt Crowhurst, one of the most established of UK professional Wakeboarders. With more members of the RAF taking part in competitions every year, the brothers have raised the profile of our sport, Water-ski and Wakeboard, even higher within military.

Facilities within the association are a match many high end clubs and boast a Super Air 210 within Southern Units, an Axis A20 at Eastern Units and agreements with Cable parks all around the UK, additionally the RAF base at Akrotiri in Cyprus operates a number of sports boats from a beach front location on the base. All the clubs have experienced BWSW coaching members and always look to encourage military personnel to try out and take up the sport in any discipline and actively encourage a level of competence in all disciplines.
