Global: Swatch Free4Style 2014
The 22nd edition of the Swatch Free4Style has been a success! The organizers have announced a positive result: nearly 20’000 visitors on site enjoyed a weekend filled with bright sunshine, a relaxed atmosphere, a wild Saturday night and explosive shows. During three days, the Swatch Free4Style showcased impressive competitions, dazzling shows and sizzling DJs, all in a friendly atmosphere!
The Swatch Free4Style 2014 finished today with spectacular watersports finals, demonstrations
and FMX show. Three wild days were enough for the town of Estavayer-le-Lac to vibrate with the
sounds of many sports and DJs at this 22nd edition. In a relaxed atmosphere, families and freestyle sports aficionados gathered together to be wowed.
Levi Sherwood from New Zealand wins the FMX competition on Saturday night FMX was showcased on Saturday night at Place Nova Friburgo. The world star Levi Sherwood won the contest of this 22nd edition of the Swatch Free4Style with his bag of tricks and amazing figures. The local star Mat Rebeaud finishes in second place.
Jet ski, Wakeboard and Jet surf –
Belgian rider Niels Willens won the freestyle discipline in Jetski with a perfect execution of six
consecutive backflips. This year only, the Swatch Free4Style hosted a round of the Jetcross Tour,
and Kevin Reiterer from Austria won the competition. Also on the water, spectators could enjoy
extraordinary freestyle Jet Ski and Wakeboard.
New this year, Jetsurfing debuted with much fanfare with a round of the world championship. This
sort of motorized surfing took the audience’s breath away on the banks of Lake Neuchâtel, and
awarded Ivo Strouhal from Czech Republic.
The organizers of the Swatch Free4Style have closed the event on a positive note, thanks to the
many spectators who made Estavayer-le-Lac buzz during three days. They are already looking
forward to the next edition, which will take place from July 3-5, 2015.
