Wakespeed LLC is proud to introduce its Wake-Series high-output alternators designed expressly for use on wakeboard and waterski boats.

Certified to meet both U.S. Coast Guard and International standards for safety on marine gasoline engines, Wakespeed’s 170-amp alternator combine low- impedance rotor design with a high-mass hairpin stator and massive 12-diode rectifier to deliver an impressive 115+ amps at idle – up to three times the output offered by traditional OEM alternators. Wakespeed’s 240-amp alternator can provide in excess of 125 amps at idle, and extraordinary output across the powerband.

“After fifteen years of providing high-output charging systems to larger boat manufacturers and dealers, it seemed like a great time to help owners of tow boats with a solid source of DC charging products to meet their growing energy needs,” said Rick Jones, owner of Wakespeed. “We’ve got a terrific alternator that’s got the potential support all of the ballast pumps, tower lights and stereo amplifiers you can throw at it, and still have power to spare.”

Jones, a former Marketing VP with marine charging system manufacturer Balmar, has been involved in designing and supporting charging system installations for yacht manufacturers, offshore racing teams, emergency management agencies and the U.S. military while at Balmar.

“Wakespeed is dedicated to putting together all of the components needed to ensure a safe and dependable system upgrade,” said Jones. “In addition to our state-of-the-art alternators, we’ve enlisted some of the best sources available to offer, including Northstar low-resistance AGM batteries, C-TEK AC chargers, and Polar Wire Products. Quality is a huge determiner in a dependable system, and we’re putting a great mix of products together to ensure great results.”

Wakespeed Wake-Series alternators are designed to install easily on most marine gasoline engines, including Ilmor, Indmar, PCM, Marine Power and Mercruiser engines. They’re made in the United States and carry a two-year limited warranty. Wakespeed alternators have been certified by the highly respected Immana Laboratory to meet SAE J1171, ISO 8846 and USCG Title 33 standards for ignition protection on marine gasoline engines.
