I know what you’re thinking: another animal band? No, not really. Just an animal name, but this is another San Diego duo on the rise. So much so that this indie-electro twosome is currently unsigned. I’m assuming not for long though as the consistent blend of synths, electro drumbeats, and harmonized catchy vocals are miles apart from all others in this semi-trendy genre. Make no mistake, following trends is an okay thing to do from time to time. It’s definitely okay when you take that trend and excel beyond all those who came before you. That’s exactly what Hyena did. They took modern influences and added their unique twist to them. Stand out tracks include “We See You”, “The Lines”, and my favorite “Anyone’s Guess”.
