Being born and raised on the beaches of San Diego, reggae music has just been a way of life for me. The same can be said for Pato Banton. Born in London, Pato was given his name from his stepfather who was a DJ in Jamaica. Pato means “wise night owl” in Jamaican and was given to him because he would stay up all night entertaining groups of people with equipment his stepfather used to DJ. Pato has been spreading good vibes and creating reggae music since before most of you were born. His years of creative genius have influenced many of reggae’s newest additions to the scene and will continue to do so for many generations to come. Destination Paradise is another incredible album to add to Pato Banton’s already successful career.
