Andrew Pastura: Fun Boots!
Fun Boots! was the “little engine that could” of wake videos in 2009, which means Andrew Pastura was the fuel for the fire to keep the wheels turning. His closing section in the video has to go down as one of the greatest performances ever put together in a wakeskate video. The craziest thing about it, though, is that he didn’t have just one section in the video. His closer section was actually an extended double section. There was so much insane footage of Andrew’s riding from the making of the video that directors/editors/filmers Dave Hanson and Keith Lant didn’t bother to limit it to one song. Props to them for making that creative decision, because it allows the rest of us all the more time to ask things like “How the hell did he do that?!?” and “Where does Andrew get his tie-dye?” As you’ll find out in an e-second, Andrew is one of the best wakeskaters in the world with a style so clean and so unique, most others just shake their head in disbelief and wonder why they can’t ride like him. If you want to see for yourself check approximately 1/6 of his part here and then go grab a copy of Fun Boots!
The 2009 Alliance Superlatives recognize the outstanding athletes and more for the past year. They are chosen by the Alliance staff in collaboration with former Rider of the Year winners. Be sure to check out the new issue of Alliance Wakeboard Magazine for more.
