The AWS GEAR GURU IS A GROUP OF RIDERS WHO HAVE ACTUALLY SPENT TIME ON THESE PRODUCTS, AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. WE’LL BE BRINGING YOU A NEW REVIEW EACH WEEK, SO LOOK FOR THEM EVERY THURSDAY!

THE DEVOTID MOVEMENT

MSRP: $229

Board type: Concave

Available Sizes: 39, 41

What type of riding is this board best for and why?

Wakeskating. Each size of concave is better for each discipline of the sport (depending on personal preference) Personally I like the 41 for the boat, and the 39 for winching and the ski.

Appearance-wise, does it look sweet?

These boards look very well built and solid. The shapes look really fun and the edges will catch your eye because they are handcrafted to perfection. The graphics are sweet as long as you don’t have a “spotsophobia,” but the to-be-released pro model graphics should take care of that.

How durable is it (and how hard did you trying to break it)?

The boards seem very durable. I’ve been testing it since last fall’s Expo and it’s gone winching, been in salt water, thrown on/ at rocks, on rails, slid across screws sticking out of rails and drilled through for metal nubs my roommate made. All of which haven’t seemed to even phase the PBT base and the very high-grade sealant.

What is different about it than other boards you’ve tried?

These boards are each made by hand with love from Sagnasty Michigan. It’s not just another one of your run of the mill china made corporate company boards.

Other thoughts?

Devotid is a rider-owned and run company that makes boards for the love of the sport and only to push the innovation and technology further than what the sport has to offer. Why continue to support a company that puts out junk equal to that of a plastic/wood combo piece of poo when you can ride a devotid!
