Finally! In a few days doors will open for the Telekom Playgrounds. On August 28th the almost sold out Waterski Arena Pinneberg will turn into an international Mecca for action sports. This year’s headliner Rise Aginst will be supported by NOFX and Yellowcard. At the official tour-stop of the WWA Wake Park World Series top wakeboarders like Fredy von Osten and Tom Foshee have to face heavy competition from around the world and the international BMX miniramp contest features a class of its own.

One event, three action sports categories and three first-class live bands: That’s  the Telekom Extreme Playgrounds. The international wakeboard and wakeskate cable contest on August 28th in Pinneberg is also an official tour stop of the WWA Wake Park World Series 2011. Riders from around the world have to go through a qualification on Saturday. Only the 14 best wakeboarders will start on Sunday. The BMX miniramp contest shows an extreme high level with 14 international pro riders. On top of that Rise Against, NOFX and Yellowcard will rock the stage by the lake.

Please welcome at the Telekom Playgrounds – Rise Against: Their current album “Endgame” was released in March and made it straight to #1 in the German album charts and was followed by a sold-out tour across Germany. Now, they are returning as one of the anniversary highlights of the Telekom Playgrounds. Their fellow countrymen of NOFX can look back at more than 6 Million albums sold and are one of the most successful independent bands of the world. Yellowcard is a member of the international Punk-Rock circus since 1997 with a Top 5 US Album position on their tab.

Odds-on favorite in Wakeboard cable are the German titleholder and current WWA #1 Fredy von Osten, three-times Telekom Playgrounds Winner Tom Foshee (USA) and dreaded shooting star Daniel Grant (THA). Next to them, we have Steffen Vollert, who won this year´s German championship for the 4th time, junior world vice champion Rocco van Straten (NL) and Hungarian champion 2011 Szebasztian Szolath.

The wake skaters show a heavy competition as well. Starting with US superstar Reed Hansen, who has to fight junior world champion and titleholder 2010 Tarik Ghoniem as well as 13 year old Daniel Grant (THA),who´s the only rider starting in both categories. Of course, current German and Europe champion 2010 Jan Kissmann won´t want to miss this opportunity to show us what he´s got.

They most heaviest competition can be expected at the BMX miniramp with UK´s finest, Ben Wallace, Mark Webb and Harry Main. Their style and trick repertoire define the European top and every one of them has at least won one title at the Telekom Playgrounds. Next to them we expect German miniramp champion Tobias Wicke, the currently best dutch rider Daniel Wedemeijer and the Spanish pro Daniel Penafiel.

The event is almost sold out and only a few tickets are left. Most likely there will be no box office tickets available, but everybody has the chance to watch the entire event live via webcast. Starting at 12:00 a.m. Freecaster.tv will stream live at www.telekom-playgrounds.de/live and all results can be followed in realtime on our website as well: www.telekom-playgrounds.de/results
