Applications for this year’s ambassadors scheme close on March 3rd

Wakestock HQ are delighted to reveal the latest names joining the 2012 bill. ANNIE MAC, ZANE LOWE, JAKWOB LIVE, GOLDIEROCKS, CLEMENT MARFO AND THE FRONTLINE, RANDOM IMPULSE and DISCLOSURE will be joining the already announced headliners CALVIN HARRIS, DIZZEE RASCAL and ED SHEERAN. Wakestock have also revealed that KATY B, RIZZLE KICKS, DJ FRESH LIVE, AZEALIA BANKS, FLUX PAVILION, HIGH CONTRAST Feat. JESSY ALLEN & DYNAMITE MC, DOCTOR P, YOUNGMAN and BURNS will be taking to the stage at this year’s festival with more announcements to come in the next few weeks.
We can’t wait to welcome Radio 1 DJ and queen of the dancefloor ANNIE MAC to Wakestock this summer. Irish born Annie taught herself to mix using old funk and hip hop records, and is now firmly established as one of the biggest names in dance music. We’ve wanted Annie to play at the festival for years and are super stoked she’s joining us this year – she’s sure to smash it up when she plays in July.

Also taking to the stage at the festival this year is Wakestock favourite, Radio 1 DJ and new music pioneer ZANE LOWE. With a schizophrenic yet encyclopaedic musical perspective, he jumps from rock star to raver with a flick of the crossfader. This man has been fundamental in finding and championing some of the hottest acts of the British music scene today, through his flagship evening show on Radio 1. He is also something of an MTV veteran having appeared on the station since 1997. Zane set’s at the festival have become legendary over the past few years and always get the party lifted to another level. This year he’s bringing his brand new production to the event.

Hotly tipped producer JAKWOB will be performing his live show at the festival this summer. Jakwob has already established himself as the go-to man for dubstep remixes, having worked his magic on tracks by Little Boots, Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen and Temper Trap. His current single “Electrify” is the first release from his forthcoming genre defying album, the single has received huge support from top Radio 1 tastemakers Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Mistajam.

Also joining us at the festival this July is DJ and presenter, and long time friend of the festival, GOLDIEROCKS aka Sam Hall. Sam’s had a busy year since playing at Wakestock last summer, from DJ-ing at festivals around the world, playing at some fabulous private parties and landing herself a presenting job filing in for Dev at Radio 1. She’s also found the time to be team captain on Channel 4’s Pop Up Pop Up Quiz. Her weekly Selector Radio show on NME radio is going from strength to strength, having recently being dubbed “the country’s coolest radio show” by the Sunday Times. Her DJ sets combine her bassy electro sound with Sam’s energetic crazy performances.

CLEMENT MARFO AND THE FRONTLINE are a seven piece diverse collective from South London, led by the charismatic Clement. Tipped as one of MTV’s “Brand new for 2012” and have made a name for themselves with their energetic live shows supporting Florence and the Machine, Plan B and Rizzle Kicks to name a few. Their tracks include elements of hip-hop, grime, rave and rock, and they have already received support from Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Semtex. Definitely one to watch at the festival – this band are set for big things!

Guitarist, songwriter, MC and producer RANDOM IMPULSE will also be making the journey to Pen Llyn for Wakestock. Backed by a drummer, bassist and guitar player, on stage Random Impulse raps his self written songs whilst playing electric guitar. He has already toured extensively with his live show, supporting Professor Green, Rizzle Kicks and Ed Sheeran, as well as headlining his own shows. Recently signed to Brille Records by the same A&R who signed the White Stripes, his recent single “On a roll” was Zane’s record of the week. Being tipped as one of 1Xtra’s 20 to watch for 2012, make sure you catch him at the festival.

Teenage brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence make up bass music duo DISCLOSURE. Their current R&B tinged single Tenderly is already playlisted by Radio 1, and the duo have recently been supporting Sbtrkt on tour. Expect a dynamic live show, with unashamedly old school dancefloor vibes.
