MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour Tests New Waters in 2009
Three New Cities Slated for ’09 Season

Orlando, Fla. – Since its inception in 1992, the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour has hosted contests throughout North America, but in 2009 the five-stop series will debut in three new cities. The Tour organizer, World Sports & Marketing, released today the ’09 Tour schedule with return visits to Fort Worth, Texas, and Reno/Sparks, Nev., along with new stops in Knoxville, Tenn., Louisville, Ky., and Pleasant Prairie, Wis.

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour will kick off its 18th season with its first stop of the year in Fort Worth at Texas MasterCraft on May 29-31. The Fort Worth stop is a three-day event featuring the first of two Tour qualifying rounds for the Pro Men’s, Pro Women’s and Jr. Pro Men’s divisions. Final placement in Fort Worth will earn riders points in the Indmar Performance Standings and help determine which riders will qualify to continue on the Pro Tour.

The second stop of the season will take place at Prairie Springs Park in Pleasant Prairie on June 19-21. Prairie Springs Park has played home to the WWA Wakeboard National Championships for the past several years, but never has served as a Pro Tour stop. This three-day event will feature the second and final round of Tour qualifiers for all three divisions. Final placement in Pleasant Prairie will determine which riders qualify to finish out the rest of the ’09 Tour and continue earning points in the Indmar Performance Standings.

Knoxville will be the third stop of the season, when the Tour arrives at Volunteer Landing on June 27-28. Knoxville has never hosted a Pro Tour event either, despite it being the home of MasterCraft. The wake scene throughout the Volunteer State is ever-growing and it should prove to be a fun and exciting event.

The fourth stop of the season will take place in the greater Louisville area in Elizabethtown at Freeman Lake Park on July 18-19. Kentucky has hosted many grass-roots wakeboarding events and is continuing to produce some solid rippers, such as MasterCraft team rider and Kentucky native Bryan Hutton. The Louisville stop will prove to be a crucial event, as riders will vie for much-needed points in order to be in the running for the Tour title.

The fifth and final stop of the season will be held in the greater Reno area in Sparks at Sparks Marina on Aug. 14-16. This three-day event will be everyone’s final shot at the Tour title and the Indmar Performance Award. Following the conclusion of the contest, wakeboarding’s top rippers will gather in the Celebrity showroom of John Ascuaga’s Nugget for the annual Tour Awards.

The top points earner in the Indmar Performance Standings at the end of the season will receive the Indmar Performance Award. This award is a $10,000 cash bonus for the Pro Men’s Division winner, a $5,000 cash prize for the Pro Women’s Division winner and $1,000 for the Jr. Pro Men’s winner.
