Milwaukee, WI — Last year – faith. This year – expectations. After the tremendously successful, inaugural launch of the Double Up Del Noche in 2005, the faithful few organizers had unknowingly created the standard of double up contests. Now, in 2006, the masses will once again congregate on the water’s edge, expecting to have their imaginations quenched by the bedazzling exploits of the industry’s best wakeboarding athletes.

Nearly 30 of the world’s top professional wakeboarders, incuding Andrew Adkison, Rusty Malinowski, Danny Harf, Ben Greenwood, Daniel Watkins, Parks Bonifay and hometown hero, Eric Ruck, will descend on Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to compete in arguably one of the largest wakeboarding events – the 2006 Double Up Del Noche. Once there, these first rate competitors will hit the water running, launching from the monstrous wake created by the MasterCraft X-Star and pulling off stunts that not only will have the expected 20,000 attendees trying to catch their breath but might win them a check from a purse that puts most other events to shame.

Invited riders will also include Philip Soven, Tino Santori, Shaun Murray, Jeff Weatherall, Josh Sanders, Collin Harrington, Shane Bonifay, Trevor Hansen, Chad Sharpe, Tim Keepers, Derek Grasman, Brett Eisenhauser, JD Webb, and Keith Lyman – professional wakeboarding’s top roster.

The 2006 Double Up Del Noche happens on Monday, August 28 at 8:00 p.m. and the event intentionally comes on the heels of the World Wakeboard Association (WWA) Nationals in Kenosha, WI. “We knew many of the athletes would be here for the WWA Nationals so that helps quite a bit to have such an impressive roster within miles of your event the weekend before,” say Jayson Rishling, event organizer and owner of The Board Shop. “Add into the mix that our event is so different from most everything else, thanks in large part to the great location, its free and of course the incredible stadium lighting set up provided by Red Bull, we definitely plan on having even a better turnout this year.”

The Double Up Del Noche will be open to the general public and will be held on the Summerfest grounds. The facilities are able to accommodate large groups of people so there will be plenty of parking, food and beverages. The Double Up Del Noche is hosted by the Board Shop, powered by MasterCraft, and made possible by the generous support of Red Bull Energy Drink, Reef and Liquid Force.
