Ronix 5 Gallons of Freedom – Tour Stop 6.17.09

Hosted by
Liquid Sports, Chicago MasterCraft, All-Actionsports.com and the No Wake Project Inc.

The day’s festivities began at the No Wake Project Pond conveniently located at Chicago MasterCraft/Liquid Sports location in Prairie Grove, IL. Despite the cool temperatures, overcast skies and occasional drizzle the 150 or so folks that came through were treated to demo rides by Parks Bonifay, Dean Smith and several other local shredders hitting the NWP sliders, kickers, boxes and gaps throughout the day’s session with multiple winches running continuously.

The skies broke and temps warmed in pursuit of the ComEd Heli that buzzed us late session. Everything was packed up and migrated to the collective hosts weekly event The Mid Week Wake-Up Series that occurs at the Broken Oar on the Fox River, Port Barrington, IL. As is the weekly occurrence, Chicago MasterCraft launched several boats (despite local law enforcements “interruption”) equipped with drivers, coaches and the latest gear from Liquid Sports and the Ronix line.

Parks Bonifay, Dean Smith and several other pro riders were on hand to sign autographs and hang out with the 300+ enthusiasts that showed up. Nearly 80 riders were provided free pulls behind the 2009 MasterCraft X series boats and coaching gratis, demonstrating all of the event hosts commitment to growing the sport and community all season long. The crowd swelled and DJ kicked in as dusk approached and we were once again buzzed, this time by a seaplane that touched down right in front of the Oar and shot back into the sky.

All were treated to sunset demo passes by pro riders Dean Smith and Laura Lohrman to the crowds delight, flashing some big moves and bigger crashes! As day turned to night the party kicked into high gear with all reveling in the days action and celebrating the “wake sports” lifestyle.
