62 Hours to CWC

We’re at the halfway point of our journey on the other side of planet earth AKA The Philippines. After a 4-day trek from Orlando to Naga, we arrived just in time for the Ultimate Wake Championships to begin at Camsur Watersports Complex. CWC is the coolest park I’ve visited HANDS DOWN, plus the Governor LRay totally hooked us up with a place to stay for the entire time and lent us his helicopter. Not a bad gig huh?

As far as the contest goes we learned a few new things:

1. Daniel Grant is a total Badass. He’s a 13 year old rider from Thailand doing 720’s off kickers on his wakeboard AND his wakeskate. If you don’t know of him yet, you soon will.

2. If the “pimple” on your ass grows bigger than a golf ball, it’s time to go to the doctor.

3. Contrary to popular belief, it IS possible for Jeff McKee to stand up two passes and a double up.

The contest has been over for two days now and we have been venturing into town a bit more. Today Nate Perry got a pair of Air force one’s for $5 and I got ran over by the sweet little carts that ride on the train tracks. Rusty Malinoski and Spencer Smith are here with a couple of other riders and videographer Joey Arcisz shooting for momentum. Combined Rusty and Spence have eaten all of the food at the restaurant on site so we are all starving now. No just kidding, they got more food today plus Rusty and Spence have moved on to the McDonalds at the mall to experience the local culture…not.

Here’s a couple of Photo’s from the trip thus far…We’re looking forward to a Heli shoot in the AM and then Nate Perry is literally going to destroy the System 2 rail park with his wakeboard. If you havn’t visited the Philippines yet, book your ticket to the CWC NOW…

Oh Yeah, also Patrick Wieland lost his wallet a couple of days ago too so if you have it hit him up with a comment. Sorry he didn’t have more cash.

Big Thanks to Governor LRay and the entire staff at the CWC Watersports Complex for all of their Hospitality.
