Oklahoma City, Okla. – The water-sports action continued in Oklahoma City, Okla. today, as the nation’s top wake athletes hit the Oklahoma River for the third day of the 2009 Air Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships, presented by ROCKSTAR.
 
The Air Nautique Nationals is five-day-long event, featuring pro and amateur wakeboarders and wakeskaters, competing for U.S. national titles in 20 different divisions, separated by age and skill level.
 
In addition to the eight divisions that wrapped-up yesterday, five more held finals today, crowning a new U.S. national champion for each one.
 
West coast rider Ricky Gonzales claimed the Pro Veteran division national title today, while Texas natives Duston Swafford and Ian Rabon took first place in the Men’s II and Jr. Boys division, respectively.
 
Hunter Henderson of Tega Cay, SC captured the Jr. Boys Beginner division national title, while Arkansas native Clay Fraley finished in first place in the Jr. Men’s division.
 
After the five finals wrapped-up today, four other divisions hit the water, including the Pro Women’s division for their quarterfinals, with five-time U.S. national champ Dallas Friday posting the only 100-point run of the day.
 
The contest will continue tomorrow, Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and concludes on Sunday, July 12.
 
In addition to all the action on the water, on land, spectators will enjoy great food and music; athlete autograph signings; chances to win freebies; and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores for water-sports equipment including boats, wakeboards, wakeskates, sunglasses and the latest in wakeboarding and surfing fashions.
 
Tickets can be purchased at the gate on event dates for $10 (general admission), $5 (ages 6-12) or free (ages 5 and under).
