We had some hammers for images hit our inbox for our first ever Photo Battle. It was tough to decide but in the end it came down to the two gems you see here. These images are very different in terms of lighting and action, but both are well composed, well timed, and make good use of light (be it natural, artificial, or a combination of both). On one hand you have a silhouette of a rider on a rail, shot from water level and on the other you have a high-flying shredder lit up with a remote flash and shot from a chase boat. Both photos are very unique and well done by the respective photographers. Now it’s up to you, the internet-perusing enthusiasts of all things wake, to cast your vote and pick the inaugural winner of the Alliance Photo Battle.

entry #1 — Photo by Gabor Vasko

entry #2 — Photo by Ryan Taylor

  • Gabor Vasko's sillohoueted railslide (63%, 564 Votes)
  • Ryan Taylor's lit up air (37%, 334 Votes)

    Dear 1440_RIPPER:

I can assure you that neither of the pix were taken with a flipcam. I used it for some of my own work and its def an easy and fun way to shoot cool stuff but Gabors pics was taken with his Nikon D200 with a waterproof housing.

  23. Gabor Vasko Says:

He is on of my best friends. His name is Balazs Bakro the most stylish Hungarian rider. The picture was taken on a huge lake called Balaton. He was also the Hungarian champ and he had his own part in Statement a cable movie by Christian Gurner.
