Justin Leblanc was living at my house at the time of the photo and he had always talked about doing something with a big tractor tire (maybe because he is from a small town in Texas). We also always drive by this old run down place that has tons of tractor tires lying around in the back so we went and scoped it out and realized it would be an easy mission. We pulled off the highway and drove around back and got to choose from about 100 different tires so that was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. We finally found a beauty that wasn’t too heavy and loaded it in the back of the truck and we were on the way. We originally wanted to do a pole jam to tire tap but could never get enough height off the pole to get up on top of the tire so we used one of these blue tubes we had laying around the yard.
Davis and I were both coming off knee injuries so Chris was the man to shred it. We did a day shoot and a night shoot and got some good stuff from both but Alliance favored this one to run. It was one of the more fun setups I have seen and the possibilities were pretty endless. It was also nice because it was in three feet of water so we could get up close and personal to film and shoot photos. We had to take it down after being up for only a couple days cause we got a ticket from the local lake patrol but overall it was definitely worth the shot. Check out this video of the behind the scenes of making this photo happen.
