$27,000 in Total Cash Prizes Announced for the Ukrainian Wake Park Open & 3rd Stop of the 2009 WWA Wake Park World Series in Kiev!

The World Wakeboard Association (WWA) and the Ukrainian Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation (UWF) are pleased to announce the Ukrainian Wake Park Open and third stop of the 2009 WWA Wake Park World Series. This event will take place August 21-23 at the X-Traction Wake Park in Kiev with $27,000 in total cash prizes on the line.

In addition to being the 3rd stop of the 2009 WWA WPWS, this event will also kick off as the 1st stop on the 2009 WWA Europe Wake Park Series (EWPS). Riders will earn ranking points for both the WWA Europe and World Series as well as the chance to win the overall cash prize bonuses and titles in Pro Men, Pro Women and Pro Wakeskate at the end of each tour.

This contest is open to all international competitors with 7 different categories in Pro Men, Pro Women, Pro Wakeskate, Junior Men, Masters Men, Obstacles Only contest and Night Winch Jam held on the Sesitec System 2.0. In addition to some incredible riding, there will be live music, open-air parties and a host of other activities, along with some sightseeing opportunities for those who wish to visit Kiev.

With 2 WWA Wake Park World Series events already under their belt, the world’s top riders will continue the challenge at the X-Traction cable wake park in Kiev for the coveted series title and the overall cash prize bonus. Jr. Men competitors, this is your chance to showcase your talents and ride alongside the best in the world. Cool prizes and gear will be given to the top three Jr. Men finalists and Masters Men finalists.

Entry fee is $130 USD for PRO Divisions and $65 USD for additional divisions. All other categories are $100 USD each and $65 USD for additional divisions. A $50 Late Fee will apply for all registration forms received after 14 Aug 2009. Entry fee is inclusive of free riding on the cable, free meals, drinks and transportation to and from the Hotel from Aug 21-23, as well as access to all parties and events being held throughout the weekend.

All athletes must be WWA Members to compete. European athletes can obtain membership by contacting info@wwa-europe.com and all others can download the form from www.thewwa.com. Membership can also be obtained onsite during registration and rider check in on Friday, August 21st. Membership entitles you to compete in any WWA event behind the boat, cable or rail jam anywhere in the world for the calendar year.

Traveling to Kiev:

Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and located in the northern part of the country along the middle part of the Dnepr River. International flights arrive into Boryspil Airport. Traveling from the Airport to the “Tourist” hotel takes about 35minutes (22km). For groups of 4 or more, a free transportation shuttle will be provided. Please contact us with your arrival times to make arrangements. Also, a free transportation shuttle will be provided from the “Tourist” hotel to the X-Traction cableway every contest day (21-23 August). Traveling time is about 30 minutes.

Located on the left bank of the Dniper River, this hotel is the largest hotel in Kyiv with the best views of the city landscape. The metro station “Livoberezhna” is right outside the hotel and 10 minutes away from the city center. Hotel services include internet center, restaurant, several bars, gym, hair salon and dentist.
