Wilmington NC- Don’t walk. Run. Empire Wake Events presents the launch of the Atlas Wake Tour (previously Carolina Wake Series) on Saturday May 23rd, 2009 with the annual Cape Fear Classic; taking place from 9am until dark at Riverside Park located in Castle Hayne.

The 5-stop East coast summer wake series begins when the grassroots Pro/Am Atlas Wake Tour starts pulling the first rider at 9 am. Throughout the day seven divisions will compete, with the pros hitting the water around 3pm. Anyone can compete; entry fee is only $40. Full details can be found online at www.empirewake.com

The Cape Fear Classic always lives up to its name, and this year is shaping up to be no different. Welcome local and regional skateboarders to the event as Doublewide Surf and Skate shop and Jimmy Slack of Sk8works bring an individual rider skate competition on a 6 foot mini half pipe to the middle of Riverside Park.
