With the wakeboard season starting to wind down, the boys at Wakesports decided to throw one last party at the Carlsbad Lagoon. Being that it is the middle of October and Halloween is fast approaching, a costume party seemed fitting. The good people at Liquid Force not only came out to support the event, but brought Keith Lyman out with them. Alliance also stepped up by giving anyone who rode in costume a free subscription. On the day of the event, Mother Nature blessed us with warm weather and perfect conditions. People came from all over Southern California with their costumes for the chance to meet and ride with Keith Lyman. We saw Elvis driving a boat, a gorilla wakeboarding, and a kid named Conor Bayuk who dressed up as Keith Lyman. Greasy Greg Cantor was also nice enough to cook up some of his famous chili dogs for everyone in attendance. After seeing everyone else ride in their costume, Keith decided it was his turn and dressed up as Captain America. After that demo, I don’t think we have to worry about terrorists anymore. At the end of the day, Lyman also decided to give his actual 2009 board away to the best costume. And the winner is…the gorilla! Thanks again to Liquid Force, Alliance, and Wakesports for finding yet another way to make wakeboarding even more fun.
