(MARYVILLE, TENN., Jan. 3, 2012) The world’s first aftermarket wakeboard tower company has developed a new, folding, forward-facing, universal-fit wakeboard tower for 2012. Monster Tower’s new MTK model features stunning good looks and dual top supports to accommodate multiple racks, speakers and accessories. It also includes a swivel tow mount to reduce line chafe and an integral navigation light so that riders can enjoy every last minute of daylight.

“Our goal was to develop a sturdy, functional− yet sexy− tower that could complement and enhance the appearance and value of a customer’s boat,” said Tony Williams, Chief Executive Monster. “The MTK easily achieves that goal as well as offering the convenience of quick release knobs for folding, motion-free, rattle-free towing and easy installation.”

Like all 2012 Monster Towers, the MTK is constructed of industry-leading 2.5 inch diameter 6063-T6 aluminum tubing. Because of its tensile strength, surface finish quality and high corrosion resistance, applications for 6063-T6 tubing range from aerospace to architecture.

Boat owners have a choice of either a polished and anodized finish for an additional level of corrosion protection or a black powder-coated finish to match their vessels.  Owners also have multiple mounting options depending on their boat’s design. The MTK fits virtually any trailerable boat.
“A lot of our customers prefer to install their own Monster towers because of the relative simplicity,” said Operations Monster Steve Beck. “But for those who have time constraints or who pale at the thought of drilling into their own boats, we also have hundreds of qualified Monster Tower dealers eager to help out,” Beck said.

Depending on location of the windshield and the boat’s design, the MTK can quickly and easily fold either forward or aft to accommodate garage or boat house storage.

The MTK is the culmination of more than a year of design and development by the entire Monster Tower team. Unfortunately, Monster Tower’s general manager − Kenton Schroeder − lost his battle with cancer before the tower was finished. As a tribute to their former colleague, the team at Monster Tower has memorialized him in the designation of the new model – the MTK – the K standing for Kenton.

“Kenton was a valuable member of the team that brought this tower to market,” said Beck.  “A little bit of him lives on in every MTK tower.”

Monster Tower is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012. Since 2002, Monster Tower, Inc. has provided universal wakeboard towers that fit virtually any boat and tower accessories that fit virtually any tower.
