WINTER PARK, Fla. (May 22, 2017)—The Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour, the longest-running professional wakeboard competition circuit in the world, is continuing its 25th anniversary season with a first-time stop in Mantua, Utah, on June 24.

The event will take place at Mantua Reservoir (pronounced “man-a-way”), a popular recreational lake located between Brigham City and Logan, just an hour north of Salt Lake City.

An international roster of sixteen of the world’s highest-ranked professional wakeboarders will compete for cash prizes and the top spot on the podium during the second competition of the four-stop series. Currently leading the pack is Australian Harley Clifford, a renowned champion who made a show-stopping comeback at the first event in Birmingham on May 13 after sitting out the 2016 season due to injury. Following closely behind is 2016 champion Mike Dowdy (USA) and young-gun Cory Teunissen (AUS).

In addition to high-flying wakeboard action, the Supra Boats Pro Wakesurf Tour brings one of the hottest up-and-coming sports in North America to each city. Wakesurfing—riding the boat’s wake without the help of a towrope—saw an astonishing 30 percent year-over-year growth from 2012 to 2015, according to the Water Sports Industry Association.

Noah Flegel, Aaron Witherell and Parker Payne lead the wakesurf tour rankings after placing first, second and third in Birmingham.

“The Salt Lake City area is home to a huge contingent of wake sports fans, so we’re really excited to bring the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour to them for the first time ever,” said Rick Tinker, president of Supra Boats. “Not only will they get to witness incredible performances by the greatest athletes in the industry, but they’ll also have opportunities to actually meet the pros and interact with the vendors behind some of their favorite wake products and brands.”

For wake enthusiasts who can’t make the event on June 24, Wakeboarding magazine will livestream the event on its Facebook page, providing real-time access to the action, athletes and editors during the competition.

The Supra Boats SA550 is the official tow boat for the tour again in 2017. Purpose-built to create clean, consistent and controlled wakes, it is designed to push athletes to new levels while preserving strict handling and a balanced ride for those onboard.

The Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour will be presented at Mantua Reservoir on June 24 from 10:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advance discount tickets are available online at $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. Tickets purchased at the gate will be $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12.
