Charlotte, NC – Although summer is winding down, the action is just starting to heat up on Lake Norman. Keeping with the annual tradition, the Carolina Wakeboard Series is proud to present Wake The Lake the weekend of September 20-21.

Hosted once again by Vinnie’s Raw Bar, the long-running event is shaping up to be the series’ largest contest so far this year. Mastercraft of Charlotte has signed on as official boat sponsor and will be providing the towboat for the weekend.

"The enthusiasm and support from Mastercraft of Charlotte has been unbelievable,” says CWS founder Rob Mendieta. “They’ve put in a ton of work to make this the best Wake the Lake ever, plus the boats are amazing. You can’t ask for much more than that!”

In addition to Mastercraft of Charlotte, Icy Waves Surf Shop has also stepped in and provided their support to the event. This is the first partnership between the CWS and the Cornelius, NC retailer, but Mendieta expects big things for Wake The Lake.

“We’re so stoked to have Icy Waves supporting this event,” says Mendieta. “We’ve had several of their team riders like Matt Kirk and Emylee Wright on the tour over the years, so it’s nice to officially welcome them to the CWS family. They’re a great shop and they’re doing really great things for the wake scene around Lake Norman.”

As always, in addition to giveaways and raffles throughout the day, the top amateur riders will be rewarded with various prizes, while the winner in the pro division will walk away with $1,000 cash.

On-site registration will begin Saturday at 8 AM. There is an entry fee of $45 and all riders must have insurance through the World Wakeboard Association, which will be available on-site the day of the event. Admission to the event is free.

Wake The Lake 2008 is brought to you by Mastercraft of Charlotte, Icy Waves Surf Shop, Vinnie’s Raw Bar, UGP, Lake Norman Magazine, Indo Board, and Buywake.com.
