Texas To Host Cable Wakeboard Nationals

USA Wakeboard is pleased to announce the 2010 Cable Wakeboard National Championships will be held May 29-30 at The Wakesport Ranch in Cresson, Texas.

Located just 14 miles southwest of Fort Worth, The Wakesport Ranch is one of the newest and largest cable parks in the nation, featuring a six-tower system with 1,771 feet of cable and straights of 590 feet.

Medals will be awarded in the Girls, Boys, Junior Women, Junior Men, Women, Men, Masters, Open Women and Open Men divisions. Blake Hess will be the competition director with Chris Walker serving as tournament director. Gary Smith, vice president of Epic Boats, is sponsoring a fun event in conjunction with the Nationals. Online registration should be done in advance at www.usawakeboard.com.

The Cable Wakeboard National Championships also will serve as team trials for the 2010 U.S. Cable Wakeboard Team, which will compete in the 2010 IWWF Cable Wakeboard World Championships, July 16-18, in Neubrandenburg, Germany.

You do not have to be a professional rider to be selected to the U.S. Cable Wakeboard Team. Selections can be made from the Boys, Girls, Junior Women, Junior Men, Masters, Open Women and Open Men divisions. Team members receive a grant to help with travel expenses. Selections will be based on membership to USA Wakeboard, ability to win a gold medal in a respective division, and availability to compete. The IWWF and USOC non-doping rules will be in effect. All athletes who wish to be considered for the U.S. Cable Wakeboard Team should contact Janifer Ellis at JaniferEllis@aol.com.
