1) State your name, age, hometown?

Trevor Fearson, 14 years old, Manassas, Virginia.

2) What is wakesurfing to you?

Wakesurfing to me is a fun yet competitive way for me to hang out with my friends on the water.

3) Are you in school?

Yes, I am a freshman at Osbourn Park High School.

4) As a rider what are you looking to improve as far as board design?

I have been working with Shortbus Skimboards to make my board as light as possible, while maintaining a strong drive down the wake and durability. Traction is critical to landing progressive tricks, so I use Agenda Surf for the best pads on the market.

5) Who are you looking up to in wakesurfing or who inspires you?

I look up to Keenan Flegel because all of his tricks are huge yet clean and Drew Danielo because he has been leading the sport for the last 10 years. They are the ones pushing the sport in the skim side of wake surfing.

6) What are some tricks you have developed or learned in 2013?

In 2013, I improved my riding by learning backside big spins, mute shuvs, 360 shuvs, air 360s, and switch front side big spins.

7) Do you have any rituals before you wakesurf?

When I’m getting ready to ride at a contest, I mostly try to have fun with my friends which helps clear my head so I don’t take it too serious and feel too much pressure.  I enjoy hanging out having fun with the other riders who I don’t get to see very often. Right before my run, while everything’s quiet and I’m waiting for the boat to come pick me up, I visualize my best run and just stay positive. At home, I don’t really have any rituals. I just hop on the boat, fill up the ballast, go out and ride and have fun while challenging myself to progress.

8) Who do you ride with?

Most of the time it’s just me and my Dad on the boat when I’m riding, but sometimes we will go out with Kyle Austin and other friends on Lake Anna.

9) We know music influences riders. Do you have a certain taste of music you listen to when riding?

My music depends on the mood I’m in. Sometimes I feel like rap, sometimes reggae, and other times dub step or country.

10) What’s 2014 to you and wakesurfing? What are ya plans any shout outs!?

In 2014, I am going to compete in the Men’s Pro Skim and Pro Surf divisions.  I plan to participate in more contests in the World Series of Wake Surfing and the Tige Endless Wave Tour. My goal is to podium in the Pro Skim division at some of these events and continue to progress my surf style. I’m also looking forward to starting to teach lessons this year. I would like to give a shout out to my family and friends, and my sponsors, Wake Edger’s Gear and Gifts, Agenda Surf, Shortbus Skimboards and Wakesurf NC for all of their support that has helped get me to where I am now.
