Central Washington University Wins National Title At Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships
Twelve teams competed in 13th annual event
POLK CITY, Fla. – The Central Washington University wakeboard team won the national title at the 13th Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships, May 24-26, on the Red River in Shreveport, La. Central Washington tallied 610 points in winning over runner-up Florida Gulf Coast College (495 points) and third-place Wisconsin (395 points). Twelve teams competed in the event.
Collegiate teams consist of four male riders, two female riders and one wakeskater. Competing teams this year included Ball State, Central Washington, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.
Central Washington’s Kyler Green (Ellensburg, Wash.) won the Men’s A title, scoring 83.33 points, while Florida Gulf Coast’s GiGi Meyer (Fort Myers, Fla.) won the Women’s A title, scoring 88.33 points. In the other individual divisions, Central Washington’s Thomas Olson (Ellensburg, Wash.) won Men’s B, scoring 94.67 points; Central Washington’s Eddie Roberts III (Redmond, Wash.) won Men’s C, scoring 91.67 points; Central Washington’s Sean Harris (Ellensburg, Wash.) won Men’s D, scoring 91.33 points; Florida Gulf Coast’s Josh Hamon (Englewood, Fla.) won Wakeskate, scoring 84.00 points; and Florida Gulf Coast’s Rachel Robinson (Boca Raton, Fla.) won Women’s B, scoring 55.00 points.
