It only seems fit to kick off the spring season and third stop on the Collegiate Cable Tour in sunny, warm South Florida. Ski Rixen is the oldest cable park in the country offered perfect features for the college level of riding.

University of Central Florida, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Miami and College of Charleston headed out to the event to boost their national rankings. The College of Charleston and Miami are both new teams to the tour and were a welcomed sight.

UCF was currently ranked 2nd in the country coming into stop 3 after a decent showing at Orlando Watersports Complex back in November of 2012. They have been in a battle of top teams with Texas State for the entire year.

The team came out swinging taking a clean sweep in the beginner division as Chris Draper took the top podium spot. It didn’t stop there, as Chad Worrall of the Knights took 1st in Advanced and the top rider of the event. Chad showed so much style with every trick and feature.

Overall UCF placed 9 riders of the 15 podium spots.

The Gators were right behind them chopping at their heels. Michael Bank placed 1st in Intermediate while his brother Josh Bank took 3rd in Advanced. Marcus Knox once again showed his level of riding continues to progress with a clear win in Wakeskate taking out Edward Alosco and John Dreiling of UCF.

Jess Reed of the University of Miami dominated the Women’s division and Kevin Wipplinger of Florida Gulf Coast placed 2nd in Advanced.

Central Florida placed first as a team and jumping Texas State to 1st in the Country. Florida came in second bumping them up to a 3rd place spot nationally, and College of Charleston started off their season and getting in the rankings.

The top riders of each division took home huge prizes from Kicker Audio, Smith Optics, Alpinestars, and Buywake.com

The tour heads north to Hexagon Wake Park April 6th. Look for new teams from Duke, NC State, UNC Wilmington and more. College of Charleston will be rolling deep with the majority of their team and looking to break into the top 10.
