Greenville, NC – After its most successful summer ever, the Carolina Wake Series is wrapping up 2008 with the annual CWS Halloween event at Seine Beach outside of Greenville, NC. Taking place Saturday, October 25th, the event is expected to attract over fifty wakeboarders from throughout the region.

"The Halloween contest is a cool chance to get the whole CWS family together one last time before the season's over," says Rob Mendieta, the event's director and CWS founder. "And with the added support from Overtons and Hyperlite, this year's event is really looking like a fun time."

Riders of all skill levels are invited to come out and compete in the CWS' final event of the 2008 season. However, the pro division is expected to attract riders from all over the southeast, as the purse has been raised substantially for the event. In an effort to increase the number of riders and spectators, Overtons has doubled the original purse, bringing it to $3500, with the top spot taking $2000, second place taking $1000, and third place leaving with $500.

"The pro division has been unreal all year," Mendieta says. "It's been the most exciting season to date and with riders like Ben Greenwood and Robby Jacques expected to attend, you never know what might happen."

As an added bonus, everyone is invited to come to Overton's for a meet and greet with the pros on Friday evening. Riders like Ben Geenwood, Roby Jacques, and George Daniels will be in attendance signing autographs, taking pictures and talking to all attendees. Additionally, Overton's will be introducing their 2009 board lineup at the event from brands such as Slingshot, Hyperlite, and Liquid Force and will be offering great deals on all 2008 boards. The meet and greet wil take place from 5-7 PM Friday evening at the Overtons retail showroom at 111 Red Banks Road in Greenville.

On-site registration for Saturday's event will begin at 8 AM. There is an entry fee of $45  for amateur divisions and $55 for the pro division. All riders must have insurance through the World Wakeboard Association, which will be available on-site the day of the event. Admission to the event is free.

CWS Halloween is brought to you by Overtons, Hyperlite, Liquid Force, CWB, UGP, Parks Boats and Malibu.
