I have a few things on my mind this week in the world of wakesurfing.

1) I encourage everyone who wakesurf’s to teach 1 new person a month to ride. It will be the best day you spend in your boat. I taught my neighbors this last weekend and watching them get up and ride and seeing the smile on there face was priceless.

2) I have really been thinking a lot about the surf style and skim style debate. Now I am all for progression and I love watching all of these guys shred on their surfboards. I personally wish that at contest time there was more push for actual “SURF STYLE” riding. Big huge air, airs reverses, even a big shuv it. I feel like some of the best surf style riders are being overlooked by the skim style tricks being done in this division.

3) This is for all the board manufacturers in wakesurfing. Let’s relax on the “Pro Model” boards. Let’s make our pro riders work and earn the right to have a pro model. There are guys with “Pro Model” boards who have yet to ride in a pro contest!

Last I really truly feel so blessed with all that wakesurfing has given me. Traveling all over, meeting some lifelong friends, and getting to help others enjoy what I love to do. Everyone take time this month to give back to our sport and teach 1 new person to wakesurf. Just think how many new people that would bring to our sport-DD
