The world’s best in wakeboarding caravanned down to Bull Shoals, Arkansas this past weekend for Liquid Force’s annual BROstock festival.  Fueled by Monster Energy, Liquid Force picked Bull Shoals as its new home, and it couldn’t have proved to be a better decision… BROstock was bigger and better than expected once again!  Twenty of the best riders including Shawn Watson, Shane Bonifay, Jimmy LaRiche, Phillip Soven, and Danny Harf came out for the contest, but stayed for the fun and festivities!

The weekend kicked off Friday evening with a rider’s only meeting, where the athletes were given the download on all things BRO.  At the meeting they were reminded about the newest rule that was added preventing the rider from repeating a trick in each round… progression and creativity was the name of the game.  They proceeded to move outside from the meeting to a kickoff party awaiting them at Bel Arco Resort.  It felt like the entire state of Arkansas was on hand and ready to show these wakeboarders a thing or two about partying.

Saturday morning came quickly as round one kicked off with 20 riders divided into five heats… two from each heat would advance.  From round one’s heat breakdown, the format switched to head-to-head as the remaining ten riders would re-draw heats to battle it out for five spots in the finals.  Each and every competitor was guaranteed a consistently giant wake behind Supra’s 24’ BROstock edition, which is the official towboat of BROstock.  All in attendance witnessed some of the most progressive contest riding ever, including Danny Harf’s 1080 that was landed cleanly in round one… this was only the 2nd 1080 ever thrown down in competition!

The head to head semifinals went like this; Watson vs. Bob Soven, Nick G vs. Tom Fooshee, Adam Fields vs. Balzer, Adam Errington vs. Gabe Lucas, and Danny Harf vs. Henshaw.  Bob took out the great Mr. Watson, Tom didn’t ride as well as he had in round one so Nick G scooted by, Adam Fields took out Balzer with a huge front mobe, Adam knocked out Gabe with a big heel 9, and Danny took down Mr. Henshaw to clinch the last spot in the finals.

Everyone brought their A-game in the finals, as Adam Fields dropped a Pete five and a huge S-bend, while Errington stomped a clean toe side nine.  Danny proved to be too much once again, as he landed a toe side back side seven on his final attempt and was named the 2010 BROstock Champion, scoring slightly ahead of the surprise rider of the weekend, Adam Fields!  For his efforts, Harf took home a custom BROstock trophy created by Aaron Reed’s wife, Jami, and a cool $13K!

Be sure to tune in to FUEL TV September 7th at 8:30pm EST to watch the BROstock show and relive all of the action!
