Acoustic Set by Interscope’s The All-American Rejects July 7th at Jack’s Surfboards Celebrates Surf Landmark’s 50th Year
and Kicks off 2007 Nike 6.0 Pier Pressure Pro Jr.

Beaverton, OR (June 26, 2007) . . . To commemorate Jack’s Surfboards’ 50th anniversary, Nike 6.0 will give surf and music fans the ultimate birthday present on Saturday, July 7th –a special in-store acoustic performance at Jack’s by Interscope Records’ The All-American Rejects. The celebration goes off as part of the Nike 6.0 Pier Pressure Pro Junior, stop number 5 on the ASP North America Pro Junior Series, going down all weekend July 7th and 8th. Also part of the weekend’s festivities at Jack’s, Nike 6.0 athletes will be on-hand for signings July 8th at 10:45 am and the store will debut a limited edition 6.0 Mavrk Mid designed by AAR front man Tyson Ritter himself, available first at Jack’s.

Only 100 pairs of the kicks will be on tap that day during the launch, so 6.0 and The All-American Rejects fans will have to dawn patrol the shop to get their hands on some.

The Limited Edition Mavrk Mid was inspired by the role music plays in action sports, with Nike 6.0’s partner in crime, AAR’s Tyson Ritter, stepping up to the plate and putting a new spin on a classic 6.0 silhouette.  As co-founder of new T-shirt line T. Bourne Ritkins launched earlier this spring, Ritter is no stranger to design or kicks.  The sneaker connoisseur was an easy choice to lead the first outside collaboration for Nike 6.0, a project that was really about inviting an outside voice to add a creative perspective to the brand.  Digging in deep, the Limited Edition Mavrk Mid by Tyson Ritter echoes the clash-or-die ethos that the musician uses to describe his clothing line: “new wave,” “trashy”, “candy pop,” and “chaos” all apply.

The All-American Rejects acoustic set at Jack’s is a perfect addition to the Pier Pressure weekend festivities happening at the Huntington Beach pier. At the contest, spectators can look forward to a goodie bag of activities overlapping the surf contest featuring today’s best junior pro surfers.  6.0 will be calling all the action from the main tower on the sand with the help of special athlete and celebrity guest competition commentary.  In between rounds, fans can hit the 6.0 dome tent for gear giveaways and check the 6.0 Seagle.

For those who can’t make it to Jack’s or Huntington Pier for the live action, the performance will also be webcast at www.nike6pierpressure.com and www.aspnorthamerica.org . 6.0 will also have the complete Pier Pressure event covered play by play, and those surfing the net will be able to get inside athlete and celebrity event commentary, exclusive 6.0 athlete footage and interviews, video replay from recent 6.0 athlete trips and events and behind the scenes action from 6.0’s upcoming ad campaign.

After their session at Jack’s, The All-American Rejects will wrap up the first day of Pier Pressure. The band will be stopping by the beach to check out the contest and provide a little guest commentary on the action.
