10 wildcards up for grabs at four qualifier locations. Penrith/Australia, Orlando Watersports Complex/USA, Moscow/Russia and Wasserski Langenfeld/Germany give out wildcards for “O’Neill Wake The Line 2013 presented by Relentless Energy Drink”.

Cologne/Germany, February 11th 2013 – “O’Neill Wake The Line presented by Relentless Energy Drink” comes back again to the Stadionbad in Cologne/Germany on May 24/25th. Thanks to a new event format with four preceding qualifier events every wakeboarder from all over the globe can qualify to participate at “O’Neill Wake The Line presented by Relentless Energy Drink”.

This year the way to “O’Neill Wake The Line presented by Relentless Energy Drink” 2013 starts at four of the greatest and most progressive wakeparks worldwide. The qualifier format consist of two group rounds, one final with eight finalists and a top four Superfinal. All in all, a total of 10 additional riders will join “O’Neill Wake The Line presented by Relentless Energy Drink” and fight for the $50.000 prize money. All 10 qualified Riders will get travel cost support and free lodging in Cologne for the weekend.

Location and dates

The qualifier events take place at four selected wakeparks in Australia, the US and Europe March to May, 2013. The date and location specifics are:

March 2nd/3rd May 11th May 17th/18th May 18th

“O’Neill Wake The Line” Stadionbad Cologne/Germany

“O’Neill Wake The Line presented by Relentless Energy Drink” is a two tower rail and kicker event. Similar to the last six years at the Stadionbad in Cologne/Germany all four qualifiers will be set up with mostly UNIT Parktech features. The riders will be pulled by a SYSTEM 2.0, the world’s best two tower cable system, developed by riders for riders.

Judging panel and criteria

The “O’Neill Wake The Line” qualifier judges will be chosen out of the renowned “O’Neill Wake The Line” pool of judges. Besides the known WTL judging criteria, the judges will make their call based on three components:

Control is essential since at “O’Neill Wake The Line” space is very limited. Extraordinary control is needed to get a good line through the entire course.
Versatility is desired since we are looking for top skills in all sections.
Creativity is required to step up the game and compete with the world’s best riders at this top notch event. Different lines, new tricks or unexpected moves not only fire up the crowd but also endorse rail events in general.
