February 9, 2009:

Without further adieu, lets get into the big news… Derek's wife, Michelle, is pregnant and is due to give birth to a baby girl on June 5th. This is a really exciting time for them, but Derek is going to be in a lot of trouble and completely unsure of what to do with himself come June. He has decided that his daughter will hold the record of the youngest girl wakeboarder as well as the youngest girl to land a shuv-it on a wakeskate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle and the baby as well as Derek's sanity.

For everyone that Derek has converted to the darkside, a.k.a. wakeskating, we have the much anticipated 2009 O'Brien Intox in stock. Derek spent the past two years helping O'Brien design this wakeskate and all of the testing, phone calls, and emails have finally paid off with the finalized version of the skate. If you would like to test one out, we have them in the camp and you are more than welcome to give it a try.

On top of that, we have some of the '09 O'Brien wakeboards and bindings in stock and are expecting to get more in shortly.

Anybody want some pictures? Sean is currently setting up a photo website for the camp which will consist of his favorite shots as well as customer galleries showcasing your experiences at the camp. This will give you the opportunity to show your friends and family all of the cool things that you learned while you were here. It also gives you the ability to purchase prints of various sizes, a variety of personalized merchandise (playing cards, coasters, mugs, and a lot of other things including aprons), and downloadable versions of the shots. Hopefully you all will enjoy the new site. http://orlandowake.smugmug.com/
Currently there are galleries featuring some of our more recent customers, but Sean does have pretty much all of the shots from the past 4 years, so if you would like him to add your gallery just send an email to orlandowake@gmail.com and let him know.

Lastly, we have two suckers that agreed to "help" us this spring and summer. Matt Morgan and Bobby Markey will be our interns to help with coaching, as well as, all the chores Sean and Derek don't want to do (hopefully they know how to change diapers!) They are both great guys and really great riders.  We are looking forward to having them aboard.  We are definitely going to need them because Derek is going to need all the help he can get, but also, it is looking to be a busy 2009. Please make sure to book early this year because we are filling up fast!  Also, make sure you check out our website to see updated photos and news at www.orlandowake.com.

Thanks again to everyone for your love and support. We hope we see all of you sometime in 2009.
