OWC Grand Re-opening
On Friday night we scored the invite to the grand re-opening of the Orlando Watersports Complex in Orlando FL. How did we get the invite you ask? Well we’re guessing it’s a combination of our strikingly good looks, our ability to always be setting new trends, the fact that we drive extremely desirable cars, or maybe just because we have cameras and a website? It was probably the part about the cars they were interested in…
Since Correct Craft’s sister company Aktion Parks has acquired OWC they have made several groundbreaking improvements, several of which were revealed on Friday evening. They have completely re-designed and renovated the pro shop which is now decked out with all the latest and greatest Hyperlite and Byerly boards hard goods available for sale and to rent. They have also re-arranged the park features to allow for some fresh new lines through the course and to keep the wheels turning in riders’ minds. Despite less than desirable temperatures there was a great turnout for the event including all of the Nautique pro athletes and several Nautique big wigs including CEO Bill Yeargin and CFO Sean Marrero. During the gathering CFO Sean Marrero announced Aktion’s partnership with Shaun Murray who will be playing a large roll in the continual improvement of the OWC experience as well as all future Aktion wake parks.
Murray had this to say about his new role with Aktion wake parks: “Being involved with Aktion Parks on the ground level is a dream come true. Wakeboarding is a great workout and with proper technique; you can put less into your riding and get more out of it. The Learn and Progress programs we have developed are designed to attract new people to the sport in addition to being easy to learn, getting a non-traditional workout and having a great time.”
Following the preview of the new and improved OWC we were treated to a meal of epic proportions and had the chance to catch up with all the Nautique riders, friends and family. We’d like to thank everyone from Nautique for the invite and we encourage you all to get up to OWC asap to take advantage of the new set-up!

They shut down the park for improvements and they didn't put in an island??? Man that blows my mind. Thank God I live next to McCormick's!
I just wish they would do something about the chop at OWC. McCormick's doesn't even have a bathroom but they have an island…
As awesome as the large and impressive features are… You would think the park would be larger and more spread out. Instead they have a giant lake off to the side that ultimately makes for a horrible riding experience compared to a properly-sized (and at the right speed) cable. You can hardly ollie at the speed they run it.
I believe that the park has a lot of potential but it seems like the biggest problem with the park was either overlooked or nobody cared enough to change it.

Agreed. OWC has some garbage chop. I live right next to it but always go to Tampa just cause of the island.

They need to get rid of that stupid boat in a box and that damn whale tail rail. Those are the biggest wastes of space. Also they should move that pool to the system park it would work way better under a straight line cable.
