I just got back from a snowboard trip to Eastern Canada. It might seem odd that I would travel all the way across country to snowboard on the east coast since I live in the Northwest, but that's beside the point. We were jibbing the streets of Quebec, battling the 6-plus feet of snow on the ground, and it made me realize how wonderful wake sports are.

First off, shooting photos in mittens is really no fun. Neither is wearing snowboard boots and being freezing cold. I much prefer standing in warm water, riding around in a boat, or even sweating my ass off in the Florida sun.

My next thought was about how much these guys need a winch. Since they are trying to hit the same things skateboarders do (don't even get me started on how ridiculous that is) but they don't have wheels, well, things can get tricky. Building start ramps, or attempting to do tow-ins with a car is just a pain. Get these dudes a winch and I bet urban snowboarding would progress leaps and bounds in a matter of weeks.

Anyway, I am back in Oregon where it's full-on spring, and its nice to see green grass. But I must say I am really ready for summer to get started around the country.
