Amred with latex gloves and plastic bags, Reef, along with the Reef Redemption Foundation, conducted a backyard clean-up at the Carlsbad Lagoon on Friday, May 11th. Reef employees, along with surf team riders such as Jeremy Sherwin, scoured the water's edge for over three hoursm picking up all trash in sight. After removing 50 bags, which added up to several hundred pounds of trash, it was apparent that the company's efforts made a noticeable difference. This event marked the beginning of an internal effort to employ more envinronmental business practices, while creating a culture of giving through the Reef Redemption Foundation. In addition, the Surfrider Foundation supported Reef's efforts by donating all materials needed for the beach clean-up.
