Orlando, FLORIDA (May 15, 2015) – After releasing the 2100 SURF Edition and gearing up for another new product launch, Regal Marine Industriesbecame one of the first sterndrive manufacturers to announce its membership in the WSIA (Water Sports Industry Association), and exhibitor status with Surf Expo, known as the most influential trade show in wake sports.

This commitment is designed to utilize Regal’s broad reach in the boating market and global dealer network to help facilitate growth for the popular activity of wakesurfing while partnering with the top visionaries within the industry.

As an early strategy partner with Volvo Penta during the Forward Drive project, Regal debuted the 2100 SURF Edition at the Miami Boat Show last February, receiving a warm reception from industry, Regal dealers and customers alike. This forwardfacing drive has revolutionized towed water sports in the recreational segment. Regal remains committed to progression and innovation for the world to enjoy and will continue to work closely with Volvo Penta as the Forward Drive is introduced globally.

From wake sports to cruising, or just lounging on a beautiful summer day, Regal’s product development team is devoted to manufacturing a boat that looks great and can literally do it all. But just doing it isn’t the end goal. “We strive to deliver a boat that can do it all… and do it well,” said Paul Kuck, Regal’s Sport Boat Product Manager. “Our FasTrac hull provides exceptional handling and performance, and Volvo’s Forward Drive adds another dimension of versatility and functionality. The Regal Surf boat really is the ultimate watersports platform for active boating families” added Don Smith, Vice President of US Sales.

In addition to Volvo’s groundbreaking Forward Drive with its counter rotating Duoprop system, Regal’s Surf Edition includes 1,000 pounds of ballast in three locations as well as Surf Tabs (to designate a port or starboard wave on the fly) all easily controlled by the exclusive RegalVue touch screen control panel. RegalVue allows the operator to easily manage every aspect of the boat’s operations, also including speed control with an intuitive and easytooperate interface.

Regal has also been aggressive in forging new relationships within the industry. “There are some great people involved in the WSIA and Surf Expo and we will do everything we can to help nurture wake sports and help spread awareness with our dealers and customers,” Kuck added.

Surf Expo is taking place September 1012, 2015 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center. The WSIA is also based in Orlando and serves as the world’s leading trade association that promotes and protects towed water sports activities. This close proximity to the Regal world headquarters allows for a dynamic relationship and smooth launch into the wake sports segment for Regal Marine Industries.
