This Past weekend stood witness to all the fun and excitement of the 2009 RiverFest. With a wakeboarding event that brought out some of the best wakeskaters from around the world and some of the best wakeboards on the left coast. Big cash prizes and a brand new pair of rims for the winner brought 15 riders out to Bullhead, Arizona too compete in the pro division. Some of the names consisted of Randal Harris, Jacob Valdez, Jeff Weatherall, Ricky G., and more talented riders.

With extreme winds, sandstorms, 10mph river current the riders were off. The boat wake was suffering from the extreme conditions making riders ride smart and cautious as the wake would sometimes just flatten out. Jeff Weatherall was able to put together a great run edging out Jacob Valdez for first place. The riders all went out there and just had fun in the insane conditions and gave the crowd a show.

The winch rail jam also took place Sunday afternoon. Because of winch problems and problems with the local authorities not allowing a jetski to pull riders 50ft from shore the winch jam did not take place. The guys still got some hits in on the 60ft a-frame that was built for the contest. Being the first year of the event a lot of bugs had to be worked out. Next year is promised to be even bigger and more planned out. The crowd still had a great time watching the riders hit the rails and go big behind the boat.
