As many of you know the riding season is still a ways away for the crew up here at Roswell so we bide our time until the boats slide into the colder, early season water with our national game- Hockey. From October till April every Saturday night the world’s oldest sports-related television program hits the air – Hockey Night in Canada (I looked that up) and most of the Roswell crew finds a couch or bar stool to pop onto and relax with a few cold ones. This past Saturday was special though as H.D.I.C. or Hockey Day in Canada took hold of the nation and our “not-beer league” team the Roswell Hammerheads took part with a game of our own.
 
With veteran defense from in house sales rep Ryan Faulkner and critical offensive play on the wing from team manager Marc Poirier the Hammerheads were able to easily power through our opponents and take the 7-4 win. Coming off a league championship in 2007 the Hammeheads are poised to make another run and sit atop the league with a 12 point cushion. After a convincing win the boys, including Roswell product manager Richard Behnke found a few cold ones and watched as all 6 of Canada’s teams tried to follow the Hammerheads example.
 

With the ice due to thaw around playoff time it will be a delicate balance between the start of shred season and making a run at back to back championships for a bunch of the boys up here at Roswell. Look for Roswell team riders and known hockey boys Kyle Rattray and Rusty Malinoski to potentially be called up from the minors come playoff time.…
