Rusty Riding with ShadowBox

What is a Shadowbox? It’s a small device that you attach to your board and track exactly how rad you’re getting. We know you Alliance readers are often getting rad, so we’ve teamed up with the fine folks at Shadowbox to give one away!

ShadowBox challenges you, the rider, to record and send us your best 3D wakeboarding recording using ShadowBox technology (www.shadowboxlive.com).  After we get all the submitted ride files, Alliance will determine who has submitted the best overall ride, we’ll declare a winner, and the prizes will flow.

First prize gets the winner their profile posted on alliancewake.com, where we’ll put up your bio, some pics of you, and make your 3D ride downloadable for all to see.  You will also win a ShadowBox ($499)

The deadline for 3D ride submissions is January 30th.There is no limit to the number of files you can submit….but each ride must contain at least 10 tricks to be considered and can be no longer than 20 minutes in length.

To check out 3D wake recording examples go to www.shadowboxlive.com and into the DOWNLOADS section there. ShadowBox offers a free download of their 3D viewing program called ‘Ridetracker,’ and several example files are available to check out…including some recent recordings with Shaun Murray, Rusty Malinoski, Adam Fields and more.  Each ride (along with any you record) is viewable in Ridetracker, but also exportable directly into Google Earth out of that program, so you and Alliance can see not only what you did but exactly where you did it. At present, only the PC is supported…but a  Mac version of Ridetracker is coming in mid-to-late November.

When you have finished recording your 3D file, simply zip it up and e-mail it straight to us at brooke@alliancewake.com Be sure to put ‘3D Ride File Submission_(your name)’ in the subject line.  Include your full name, address, phone and e-mail in the message so we can reach you if you win!

Yeah cool, but as Brett says, how you supposed to do it without splashing serious cash?

These were avail for skis & snowboards at this stoopid sorta price about 3 years ago, now they’re 1/4 of it or less- when they get to be sensible money everyone will want, for now, it’s just too much ca$h!
