Ah, the Spring season. It’s like a breath of fresh air from what has seemed to be a longer, colder winter than usual. The last weekend of March felt like the unofficial welcoming of the warmer weather, and what better way to celebrate than with a good old grassroots contest.

St. Cloud’s Rotary Club hosted the second annual St. Cloud Spring Fling Wakefest, again on the abundant waters of East Lake Toho. Wakeboarders and wakeskaters from all over the glorious state of Florida gathered for a weekend of fun riding and gorgeous weather. Saturday’s festivities consisted of practice runs and a best trick contest, with Kyle Evans taking the win. The main event took place on Sunday and with the conditions being more favorable that day, everyone was ready to throw down their best runs. There are definitely some extra hormones in the meat these kids are eating because the level progression these days is insane. The pros really have their work cut out for them.

A big thank you to all the sponsors, the competitors and everyone who made the 2010 Spring Fling a great success. MasterCraft of Orlando, Time On the Water, Hyperlite, DryPro, Pro-Tec, and Alpinestars.
