ORLANDO, FLA. (August 29, 2006)— Wakeboard enthusiast packed the shores of Lake Andrea in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, August 25-27, to watch some of the world’s best compete at the Air Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships. Team Nautique athletes Shaun Murray, Melissa Marquardt and Aaron Rathy all placed in their divisions.

In the men’s wakeboard division, veteran Murray competed in the finals against Tino Santori, Andrew Adkison, Jeff Weatherall, and teammate Danny Harf. Murray gave an impressive performance and placed third with a score of 75.50. This is Murray’s first season competing since 2003. “My goal for the year was to place on the podium and it was awesome to be able to do it at Nationals, a Nautique event, said Murray.” Harf placed fifth and won the U.S. Air Force Big Air Award with a heelside, frontside, cab 900, off the kicker.

In women’s wakeboard division, Marquardt scored 56.56 points to capture second place.

In men’s wakeskate division, Rathy finished third. “The wake was perfect behind the Air Nautique 210. Since this was my first time riding in the Air Nautique U.S. Nationals, I’m very pleased with the outcome,” said Rathy.

Director of Marketing and Team Manager Brian Sullivan said, “I’m very happy to see how well our riders did this past weekend. I was also thrilled to see Murray back on top.”
