THE 2015 TIGE WAKE UP WAKEBOARD COMPETITION AND LIFESTYLE
FESTIVAL AND INAUGURAL PRE WAKE UP WAKESURF SUNSET SURF SESSION
DEMO EVENT IS HERE PIONEER WEEKEND AT PINEVIEW RESERVOIR, UT!
“In its 6th Year, The Wake UP event series involves and entertains wake sport enthusiasts
young and old as the Mountain West’s largest wake sports gathering, growing and expanding
each year at the perfect venue, Middle Inlet, Pineview Reservoir Friday July 24th and Saturday
July 25th.”

Ogden Utah July 6, 2015 – With some serious competitors registered for the all-day Wakeboard
Competition on Saturday and tickets moving fast for the pre wake up demo opportunity to ride
behind the best wakesurf boats and boards on the market Friday, the organizers of the 6th annual
wake up are stoked to announce the now two day event’s schedule, sponsors and detailed
offering.

New this year for The Saturday Wakeboard Competition and Festival. Tige boats and Petersen
Marine have stepped up as title sponsor and exclusive tow boat for the all day event that will
feature competitors from Grom (youth), beginner, intermediate, advanced, womens and outlaw
division culminating in a double up or kicker (big trick) contest toward days end. Event
organizer and presenter James Kleinshnitz of wakeutah.com stated, “The magnitude and
diversity of the Wake Up event pushes beginner to regional pro riders to continually improve
their riding so that they can compete at their highest abilities. I want my kids coming up in this
sport, which is what propels us into our sixth year.”

Launching this year in advance of the Wakeboard competition is the Friday “Pre Wake UP
Sunset Surf Session Demo Event” which not only features Tige boats from Petersen Marine but
also brings BoardCo with their Centurion boat offerings, Marine Products with their Supra and
Moomba lines, Croft Marine with Nautique, and Utah Watersports with MasterCraft. All these
dealerships will have their full offering of pro shop wakesurf board brands to sample and
rounding it off as a legacy sponsor Liquid Force will have their entire quiver of 2015 wakesurf
boards to try out. All going down in an exclusive “no wake zone” where only participating boats
can operate. “This is a fantastic opportunity for the active enthusiast looking for their next boat
or board to get a session behind these elite tow boats and try several boards. The rising tide floats
all the boats. That is why we tried to get all the boat brands and retailers involved in this. Our
motivation in growing these events is building the family culture and community around it in the
region.” Said Paul Avner, event organizer and principal partner at ClubRecUtah.com.

Along with those previously shared, legacy sponsors Triple S Polaris are back onboard this year
offering demos and rides around the event on their Rzr’s and other offerings. As new additions to
the presenting entities, Maryanne Ballard, Managing Partner at Rentals at Wolf Creek, A Valley
Escapes Company added this. “As a local company in an area with many natural assets,
participating in area events promotes the local economy and helps introduce our area to people
who might not otherwise be reached creating community cohesiveness which hopefully will
build year after year in order to help share the burden of putting on these types of events in the
valley.” Wasatch Peaks Credit Union is also a new presenting sponsor this year as part of their
ongoing mandate to support local businesses and enterprises. Maverik has also partnered in this
year providing marketing support and a perfect fit as “adventures first stop”. Media partners this
year include Standard Examiner and Alliance Wakeboard Magazine helping get the word out to
wake sports enthusiasts and the general public alike.

Tony Duffy, Principal at All-Actionsports.com and new to the presenting organizer group had
this to say. “ We were honored to be asked to get involved this year and our efforts to gain
support and bring in more sponsors, vendors and partners was met with such enthusiasm, we
can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.” Rounding out this year’s sponsors and vendors are the U.S.
Forrest Service supporting the event annually along with Fred’s Marine, Red Robin providing
food and beverage, Epic Wake Sports: an enthusiasts outlet, SheShreds.co: apparel and gear for
females in action sports, DiodeOptics.com: affordable, fashionable eyewear, JacketRackit.com,
environmentally focused brands Goal Zero and Xhaxhi Shoes and last but not least Powder
Mountain Resort.

fierce wakeboard competition Saturday (9a-5p). For more info and to register to participate
Friday or compete on Saturday go to www.wakeutah.com or just come on out and watch all the

About The Wake Up
In its 6th Year, The Wake Up event has taken on a festival feel with competitors, audience,
supporting brands and vendors coming from throughout the Mountain West region to take part in
the fantastic action/adventure sports energy and family friendly vibe at this amazing spectator
friendly location. With influence stretching from Montana and Idaho to Nor Cal, Nevada,
Arizona and of course Utah, this event sees attendance of 3k plus each year and growing. It is
quite a spectacle to see the shoreline solid with spectators and a hundred plus boats in the tie off
along the competition tow line. The goal, as with the added Surf event demo is to create more
events throughout the season at Pineview and perhaps other locations under the Wake Up
masthead. For more information please visit www.wakeutah.com.
