The Carolina Wakeboard Series Returns to the Grand Strand

Myrtle Beach, SC – Next month, the Carolina Wakeboard Series will return to one of its most popular destinations of last year.

The 4th Annual Grand Strand Slam will take place Saturday July 26st at the Boathouse Bar and Grill in Myrtle Beach and is expected to attract nearly fifty wakeboarders from all across the southeastern United States.

"Myrtle Beach was one of our best contests last year," says Rob Mendieta, the event's director and CWS founder. "The location is unreal and the nightlife is sure to be going off. Plus, the Hard Rock Park just opened right down the street from the site; what else could you ask for?"

Riders of all skill levels are invited to come out and compete in the CWS' third event of the 2008 season.

"We really couldn't ask for a better spot," Mendieta says. "We're in a location where we'll have great conditions for the riders and a great spot for the crowd to catch all the action.

In addition to giveaways and raffles throughout the day, the top amateur riders will be rewarded with various prizes, while the winner in the pro division will walk away with $1,000 cash. As always, the pro division will be stacked with the very best riders in the region battling it out for the cash, including Adam Fields, Scott Hopkins, Austin Hair, Andy Owens, Nick Galotifiore and more.

On-site registration will begin Saturday at 8 AM. There is an entry fee of $45 and all riders must have insurance through the World Wakeboard Association, which will be available on-site the day of the event. Admission to the event is free.

The Fourth Annual Grand Strand Slam is brought to you by Centurion Boats, Eastern Sales Company, UGP, Dragon Optics, Indo Board, Sail and Ski Connection, and Buywake.com.
