TSR Sets Record at Showdown Number 1
Texas Ski Ranch officially kicked off their ninth season of Thursday Night Showdowns with a bang. Sixty six riders competed in the first of five events that are part of the Cablewakeboard.com National Points Chase. TSR is one of ten parks that will qualify team for the Championship that will be hosted in Tampa in early September. TSR won the team event last year and have no plans on relinquishing the title in 2011.
Texas Athletes came out and competed like never before. “The talent level has definitely stepped up a notch since last year,” says tournament organizer, Blake Hess. Last year in the nationwide series the largest single event had 63 riders, three less than this weeks event. It is tough to get through so many riders in such a short time span. TSR is able to run an event like this because of the strong support group of past and present athletes that enjoy helping the sport continue to grow. Riders such as current WWA World Champion Tom Fooshee, help announce, judge and also compete in the weekly events. Without the help from all of the volunteers, events like this would not be possible.
TSR would like to thank all of the riders and spectators that came out! We would also like to give a special shout out to all of our sponsors: MasterCraft, Liquid Force, Rip Curl & Spy. Be sure to make it out to TSR or your local cable park to compete or watch the summer events over the next four weeks! TSR Showdowns will be every Thursday night through July 14th.
