2015 Video Section of the Year
Chris Abadie – Real Wake

2015 was an interesting year for videos. There weren’t many full-length features produced, and of those that were none had traditional “video sections” as we’ve come to know them. Then we also had Real Wake, which were very much video sections but in a very different sense. Yes, the Real Wake sections were only 90 seconds long. But did you see what went down in those 90 seconds? Come on, we know you did. For the time and effort that went into riding in and producing those 90 seconds they were practically full length parts. Of course, no section stood out this year quite like that of Chris Abadie’s. If the game-changing way he approaches riding his wakeboard isn’t evidence enough for you, then maybe the double gold medals will be. Chris charged in the ways he’s become famous for: finding unique spots and paying little regard to his physical well being in trying to hit them (all while remaining legit with a hard-charging style all his own). Captured perfectly by fellow Shredtown-er Andrew Adams, Chris’ Real Wake part garnered the most jaw drops and “oh damn!”s of anything we’ve seen in a while, which is why he has snagged Video Section of the Year for 2015.
