Brian Reeder had this great idea to travel up to his hometown in Virginia and hit up his home lake Smith Mountain Lake. Marc Rossiter and Rookie Jon Prehn tag along for the adventure as well. We find miles of glassy water, a pond full of rails and friends along the way with their arms wide open. When you find wakeboarding in its purest, simplest form you end up on a boat with your closest friends and that’s exactly what we found.
Day 1 we roll out of Orlando,Fl at 5pm and end up getting to SML at 11am the next morning. We head to Wake N Skate Shop to check out their setup and find some boats to ride behind. After securing two boats we head out on SML in search of glassy waters, not far up the river we find it. The guys are all tired after a long day on the road but have a fun set behind the AXIS and then have no problem falling asleep that night.
We’ll be dropping each day from the trip over the next week or two so make sure you check back often. There are even more glassy waters, girls dancing on each other and a ponds full of rails in North Carolina.
Big thanks to Andy Warden and his wife for putting us up in their house, Thanks to Wake N Skate Boardshop for hooking it up big time and thanks to everyone in SML for rolling out the red carpet.
