There have been three deaths by alligator this week in Florida — one in Gainsville, one in Ft. Lauderdale, and one in St. Petersburg. Before this week there were 14 deaths in the last 50 YEARS. SO what’s going on? Breeding season for one. People getting more comfortable around them, is another. I’ve always said the only thing that scares me about riding in Florida lakes is a snapping turtle and maybe an occasional water mocassin, but I guess you have to realize that gators are basically dinosaurs, and you should always be wary of dinosaurs.
