Music: El Ten Eleven – It’s Still Like a Secret
I wish I had a really cool story on how I heard about this band, but I don’t. Fact is they popped up on Pandora while I was at the computer writing some meaningless paper back in my college years. Nonetheless, El Ten Eleven is a band that continues to impress. Their senior release, It’s Still Like a Secret, gives us heartfelt tunes like “Falling”, along with hard driving, up-tempo tracks such as “Ya No”. Oh yeah, did I mention they’re only a two-piece? Kristian plays a double neck guitar/bass with tons of pedals for effects, loops, etc. Tim plays a hybrid acoustic/electric drum kit. Do yourselves a favor and see them live when they come to your town this spring. They always play small venues, so you’ll be able to get an up-close look at the on-stage wizardry perpetrated by these guys! – Scott Schaad
