Santi White, formally a member of the band Stiffed, started Santogold after the band broke up in early 2007. So her debut album as Santogold has been long over due. Santogold was recognized by Rolling Stones “10 Artist To Watch” and has been in just about ever music magazine out there. Santogold is a mix of new wave music that is starting to really take off. I think it’s because the music is so fun to listen to and just about anyone will like it. Her voice reminds me a bit of Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with a slight twist. Expect big things from Santogold and look for her to be on tour really soon.
