Labor day weekend. The celebration of doing work. Right? I think that’s what the weekend is supposed to be about. Well that’s what went down in the little town of Millington, MI. Lots of relaxing mixed with amazing weather and you could not be in any better place. Especially if you love stair gaps, rails and dodging 50cc mini bikes of death like frogger with wet muddy shoes. I think i saw at least three gnarly pit bike accidents on some of the endless streets formed by rows of vendors and moto trailers.

Three full days of winching, camping, and partying with the natives. Devotid wakeskates put on public demos for people to learn to wakeskate behind the fully loaded 12 Gauge winch areas. Nate and the 12 Gauge staff hooked us up with two brand spanking new revolver 2.0 winches. These things are bulletproof and look just as good as they perform. We saw them pull riders 8-9 hours straight for three days. Not even a hiccup from these beasts. Check em out at skate12gauge.com.

Devotid Wakeskates and Silver Spray Sports of Fenton sponsored a little Showdown on Sunday under the lights for $200 cash to make it fun. Big thanks to Silver Spray Sports and Nautiques for that. Even through all the crowded mayhem and rough water in the start pools Ben Horan and Ian Walton stomped a kick flips over the large stair gaps. Then about 5 minutes after that Russel Brightwell pulled out the victory with a full line of hammers that used every obstacle in the park.

All in all, the first ever devotid Union Park Event was a great success and could not of been any more fun. The right people were there and could not have gone any smoother. Big thanks to all the people that helped make it a success. Silver Spray Sports, Encore Ink Clothing, 12 Gauge Winches, Baja Acres, and all the people who helped constructing it all.
